Barca Destroying Espanyol in Catalan Derby
Spanish giant, Barcelona go three points clear at the top of La Liga standings following their big win over their city rival, Espanyol on Saturday.
Traveling to RCDE Stadium, Barca looking confident since kick off as they put on an aggressive and dominant display since early minutes.
Blugrana’s Argentinian super star, Lionel Messi, once again showcasing his magic as he got his team going by scoring the opening goal after just 17 minutes of play.
Talented French winger, Ousmane Dembele extending Barca’s lead on 26 minutes, before Luis Suarez closing that first 45 minutes with a third goal.
Taking a convincing 3-0 lead in the first 45 minutes didn’t stop Ernesto Valverde’s men from dominating their opponent as Barca continue their attacking approach.
The visitor’s positive display earned them another reward as Lionel Messi completed his brace on 65 minutes and made it 4-0 for Blaugrana.
Not much that Espanyol can do as they can’t even get themselves a consolation goal, giving their city rival a rather comfortable victory this time around.
That victory also means that Barca are now extending their lead to three points ahead of joint runners up teams, Sevilla and Atletico.
